Synopsis
In Antarctica's Amundsen-Scott Research Station, U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko is nearing the end of her three-day tour before resigning and leaving the harsh environment behind. As she prepares to depart, a body is discovered on the open ice, marking the continent's first homicide. Carrie investigates the crime, delving deeper into a mystery that threatens her own life. Meanwhile, a U.N. agent named Robert Pryce arrives seemingly out of nowhere to assist in the investigation. As Carrie struggles with an incident from her past and faces the approaching winter storm, she must determine if Pryce is trustworthy and whether she still has what it takes to solve the case.

Résumé
Whiteout (2009) is an action thriller directed by Dominic Sena, based on a comic book. Set entirely in Antarctica's frozen tundra, the film follows Carrie Stetko, the sole U.S. Marshal assigned to the region. With her tour ending and retirement looming, she finds herself ensnared in a murder investigation as the first-ever winter storm approaches. Amidst the inhospitable environment, an aging physician, a nervous mission chief, and remnants of a downed Soviet plane add intrigue to the story. As Carrie races against time to solve the crime before the station shuts down for the long winter, the film explores themes of trust, redemption, and survival in extreme conditions.
