Based on Jordan Belfort's autobiography, 'Wolf of Wall Street' follows New York stockbroker Jordan Belfort as he rises to a life of wealth and decadence through corrupt and fraudulent means. Starting in the early 1980s, Belfort begins his career as an honest stockbroker but is fired due to 'Black Monday.' He then turns to selling penny stocks and becomes successful, attracting investors and co-founding a brokerage firm called Stratton Oakmont. Alongside his partner Danny Porush, they defraud investors while living a hedonistic lifestyle filled with drugs, sex, and lavish spending. Their corrupt practices eventually catch up with them, leading to an FBI investigation, criminal charges, and the eventual fall of their empire.
