Synopsis
Set in occupied Netherlands during World War II, 'Zwartboek' follows Erik Von Kühnheit (Sebastian Koch), a member of the German SS who becomes infatuated with a Dutch Resistance fighter named Ellis De Vries (Carice van Houten). As the war progresses and Von Kühnheit's obsession grows stronger, he begins to protect De Vries rather than hunt her down. Meanwhile, De Vries uses their relationship to gather intelligence for the Resistance. The film explores themes of betrayal, loyalty, and the complexities of human relationships in times of conflict.
