Catherine Deneuve (born Catherine Fabienne Dorléac on October 22, 1943) is a renowned French actress and occasional singer, model, and producer. Known professionally as Catherine Deneuve, she is regarded as one of Europe's greatest actresses. Throughout her career, Deneuve has portrayed enigmatic characters in films directed by influential figures such as Jacques Demy, Luis Buñuel, François Truffaut, and Roman Polanski. Notably, she won a César Award for her role in Truffaut's 'The Last Metro' (1980) and was chosen as the official face of Marianne, France's national symbol of liberty, succeeding Mireille Mathieu in 1985.
