Synopsis
Madame Claude follows the life of a high-class Parisian madam named Claude (Fanny Ardant). The film begins with Claude's retirement from her successful brothel business, where she had been catering to wealthy and powerful clients for over two decades. After announcing her decision to retire, one of her long-time clients, a French diplomat named Jean-Louis (Bruno Cremer), becomes obsessed with finding the perfect replacement for Claude's services. Meanwhile, Claude reflects on her past life and the women who worked for her, including the ones who rose above their station and those who struggled to escape their circumstances.
