Despite appearances of reconciliation when he is discharged from the hospital, Gregorio ultimately commits suicide. Posthumously, Manuel receives a box containing Gregorio's notes, lyrics, and other personal items. Strange occurrences begin: unsigned letters quoting Gregorio's writings are sent to Manuel, and he starts hearing excerpts from these letters in conversations and media, leading him to question his own sanity.
