Histoire
The short film 'Turn the Page' follows Ginger Lynn Allen's character, a nightclub stripper and prostitute who is raising her 12-year-old daughter. The narrative alternates between the mother's and daughter's perspectives of their daily lives. The mother, over 35 years old, expresses her unfulfilled dream of becoming a rock star. Throughout the film, the daughter subtly critiques her mother's parenting methods. She remarks on her mother's contradictory behavior regarding smoking ('she tells me not to smoke but she does') and TV consumption ('she says there's too much garbage on TV but watches more than I do'). The film features two notable scenes: Ginger Lynn Allen's striptease pole dance and a brutal sexual encounter towards the end. These scenes are presented in a documentary-like style with voice-over.
