Histoire
Kiss Me First follows Leila, a 17-year-old who escapes her troubled reality by immersing herself in a secret virtual paradise called Red Pill. Here she meets Tess, an impulsive and hedonistic character who is everything Leila is not. When Tess suddenly appears in Leila's real life unannounced, Leila's world changes forever. However, when one of the members of Red Pill mysteriously disappears, Leila begins to suspect that Red Pill might not be the digital Eden it claims to be. This prompts her to start questioning everything around her and ultimately sets off a chain of events that force Leila to confront reality.
Résumé
Kiss Me First is a gripping British thriller that blends real life with animated virtual worlds, exploring themes of identity, escapism, and the blurred lines between reality and digital illusion. Based on Lottie Moggach's novel of the same name, this four-part miniseries is directed by Bryan Elsley, Misha Manson-Smith, and Tom Green. The story revolves around Leila, a teenager seeking refuge in online gaming from her difficult home life. When she discovers Red Pill, an exclusive virtual community hidden within her favorite game, she forms an intense bond with its charismatic leader, Tess. As the line between their digital and real lives starts to blur, Kiss Me First examines the darker side of escapism and the consequences of addiction to online personas.
