Catherine Spaak (3 April 1945 – 17 April 2022) was a French-Italian actress, singer, model, and media personality. A member of the Spaak family, she was known as an iconic "It girl" in Italy during the 1960s, becoming a star of commedia all'italiana films, before later becoming prominent as a talk show host and media personality.

Histoire
La matriarca follows Mimi, a young widow who discovers that her late husband, Franco, maintained a secret apartment to explore his sexual fantasies. Frustrated by this revelation and feeling unfulfilled in their marriage, Mimi decides to embrace her own sexuality and seduce various men at the secret apartment. Through these encounters, she learns about different aspects of human sexuality and experiences the double standard towards female sexuality. Eventually, she finds a man who accepts and appreciates her sexual daring.
