Alice Keohavong is an American-born Australian actress of Laotian descent, best known for her breakout role as Mali in the critically acclaimed film The Rocket (2013). She was born in Seattle, Washington, after her parents fled Laos following the communist takeover in 1975. While her exact birth date is not publicly listed in standard filmographies, she was reported to be 26 years old in August 2013, suggesting a birth year around 1986 or 1987. Her full name is recorded as Alice Keohavong.

Shortly after her birth in the United States, her family relocated to Australia, where she grew up in the Liverpool suburb of South-Western Sydney surrounded by a close-knit Laotian community. Keohavong developed her passion for performance early on, studying drama at Cecil Hills High School before earning a Bachelor of Creative Arts in Performance and English Literatures from the University of Wollongong in 2008. Histoire

In Laos, a boy named Ah Loong struggles with his family's belief that he is cursed and brings bad luck to those around him. In an effort to change their minds and prove himself, Ah Loong embarks on a dangerous journey with his family and two new friends. Along the way, they face numerous calamities due to the war-torn landscape and its remnants. To finally redeem himself and gain acceptance from his family, Ah Loong decides to build a giant rocket for the Rocket Festival competition, hoping that his participation will convince everyone that he is not indeed bad luck.
