Born as Charlotte J. Helmkamp on January 21, 1961, in Omaha, Nebraska, she rose to international recognition as an American model and actress. Before her career in entertainment, she was a highly accomplished athlete, serving as an AAU state champion swimmer and a member of the Junior Olympic team.
While studying biology and psychology at Indiana University, she was scouted to model and subsequently achieved fame as the Playboy Playmate of the Month for the December 1982 issue, appearing under the name Charlotte Kemp. Her career expanded into acting with roles in films such as Frankenhooker (1990) and Posed for Murder (1989), as well as various Playboy video collections. Throughout her professional life, she has been known by several names, including her birth name and the stage name Charlotte Kemp.
