Born on September 17, 1996, in London, Ella Purnell has evolved from a prolific child actress into one of the most compelling stars of contemporary television and film. She began her training at the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School and made her professional debut at age 12 in the West End production of Oliver!. Her early film career was defined by playing younger versions of established stars, appearing as the young Ruth in Never Let Me Go (2010) and the teenage Maleficent in Disney’s Maleficent (2014).
