E.'s pronouns are they/y'all. E. Napoletano hails from the outskirts of Houston, TX, and a family that was never completely broke but not quite stable. Caught between ongoing custody battles, bouts of parental mental illness, and strict gender roles, E. found escape - and ultimately, a career - crafting stories about lives lived in the spaces "in-between." Whether riffing at a comedy club, reporting for major news outlets, or finessing pages of a script, E.'s work shines a ruthless and often comedic light on themes of hope. E. likes to think of hope as a dimmer switch. Their stories explore what happens when characters find hope fading, stolen, just out of reach, or so bright it's blinding (like that idiot right behind you with his brights on at 9:23pm on the 101), and through an unapologetic femme lens. E.'s currently in active development for two original shows. Their uncensored half-hour dramedy, KILL ME NOW, is set up with AGC Studios producing and explores the collision of queer-over-40 and Southern culture. Their one-hour drama anthology series, MOTHER NATURE, is under option with Population Media Center and explores the intersection of two of the world's most mercurial forces: motherhood and Mother Nature. A seasoned soul, E.'s led quite the storied life beyond screenwriting. Since haphazardly launching a blog in 2007, they've earned a not-so-haphazard career as an award-winning journalist and author. Their work for Chicago Health Magazine is nationally recognized and focuses on how marginalized communities access medical care. E. also recently wrapped production as one of the lead journalists on the TNT/TBS show "Chasing the Cure."
