Ewa Swann, born Clara Noël, was once a prominent film star who succumbed to alcoholism and mental health issues. She was eventually confined to a mental hospital. During her time there, she fell in love with Georges Menessier, a celebrity press writer who had sneaked into the facility to photograph her.
