Marla Malcolm was a key figure in the horror film '2001 Maniacs' (2005). She portrayed herself alongside her real-life partner Nelson Elliot and their friends Anderson Lee, Cory Jones, Joey, Kat, Ricky, and Leah during a vacation to Florida. The group took a detour to the Southern town of Pleasant Valley, where they were welcomed as guests of honor for the Guts and Glory Jubilee by Mayor Buckman.
