Born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Melissa Williams began her career in the entertainment industry as a dancer, first gaining attention on the talent show Star Search. Her early career in Los Angeles included a four-year stint dancing for Prince at his nightclub Glam Slam, where she was known as 'Shockadelica'. Transitioning into acting, Williams appeared in films such as Showgirls (1995) and the TV movie Between the Lies (1997), where she played the character Desi. Her career also includes guest appearances in TV series like Red Shoe Diaries and choreographic work for major artists and shows, including Britney Spears' Femme Fatale tour and So You Think You Can Dance Canada.
