Nebiat Habtemariam Measho (born December 29, 1978) is a retired Eritrean long-distance runner who specialized in the marathon. She made history as the first woman to represent Eritrea at the Olympics.
Habtemariam's athletics career began at a young age, and she achieved notable results at the national level against her parents' wishes. Following Eritrea's membership in the World Athletics (then IAAF) in 1997, she made her international debut at the World Championships in Athens. Over her nearly two-decade-long career, she competed in five Olympic Games: Sydney (2000), Athens (2004), Beijing (2008), and Rio (2016), as well as eight World Cross Country Championships and various other global competitions.
Known for her resilience, Habtemariam was also a two-time flagbearer for Eritrea. Her marathon personal best is 2:32:04 hours, set at the 2008 Hamburg Marathon where she finished seventh. She retired in 2017 and is a proud mother of three, continuing to serve as an esteemed role model for young female athletes in Eritrea.
