Born Mary Mendum on February 21, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, Rebecca Brooke was a prominent American actress and model. She began her artistic career in the theater, notably performing in the original production of the musical Hair as "Sheila" and "Jeannie".
She gained significant recognition in the 1970s for her work in independent and adult-oriented cinema, frequently collaborating with director Joseph W. Sarno. In the 1974 film Confessions of a Young American Housewife, she played the lead role of Carol, a woman exploring the complexities of suburban sexual liberation.
Outside of her film career, she was known to be a private and compassionate person who eventually worked in the culinary industry at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. Rebecca Brooke passed away on July 17, 2012, in Boca Raton, Florida.
