Susanna Mikkonen, born Marjut Susanna Mikkonen on January 30, 1968, in Taivalkoski, Finland, is a highly regarded actress known for her versatility across Finnish television and cinema. Early in her career, she frequently appeared under her married name, Susanna Anteroinen.
Her breakthrough into the national spotlight was significantly shaped by her collaborations with director Aku Louhimies. In the 2003 drama series Irtiottoja (Take-offs), she portrayed Hanna, a role that showcased her ability to navigate complex, character-driven narratives. This collaboration reached its critical peak with the 2006 film Valkoinen kaupunki (Frozen City), for which she won the Jussi Award for Best Leading Actress.
Mikkonen is also a familiar face to television audiences through her long-running role as Liisa Salo in the popular soap opera Salatut elämät (Secret Lives), appearing in over 400 episodes. Beyond acting, she spent a decade as a weather presenter for the Finnish channel Nelonen from 1998 to 2008. More recently, she returned to high-stakes drama with a role in the 2024 political thriller series Conflict.
