Biographie complète
Tatiana Sorokko is a Russian-born American former supermodel, fashion journalist, and world-renowned collector of haute couture. Born in 1971 in the Soviet nuclear research town of Arzamas-16, she was the daughter of nuclear physicists and was studying at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology when she was scouted by a Parisian agent in 1989.
By 1990, she had moved to Paris and emerged as one of the first post-Soviet models to achieve major international stardom. Throughout the 1990s, she walked the runways for iconic fashion houses such as Chanel, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, and Alexander McQueen. Her presence in the film industry includes a cameo as herself in Robert Altman’s 1994 fashion satire Prêt-à-Porter. Although her name appears on cast lists for the 1997 softcore anthology project Click: Sex, Lies and Politics, her professional identity remains anchored in the high-fashion world.
Following her runway retirement in 2000, Sorokko transitioned into a successful career in editorial journalism, serving as a contributing editor for prestigious publications including Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. Today, she is widely recognized as a "fashion historian" and an influential muse, known for her vast personal collection of vintage couture which has been featured in major museum exhibitions. She currently lives in San Francisco with her husband, art dealer Serge Sorokko.
