"Actress and indie pop singer Tru Collins, renowned for her cascading locks and distinctive figure, hails from Richmond, Virginia. In her adolescence, she attended Manhattan's Professional Performing Arts School while concurrently studying classical piano and training at the American Ballet Theatre. A songwriting scholarship from Universal facilitated her education at New York University and The New School in New York City. Tru debuted onscreen in the short film Beauty and the Bike (1999), but her acting prowess is most notably displayed in White Rose (2012), Awkward., and The Price (2017). In HBO's Insecure (2017), she shares a provocative scene with Issa Rae, engaging in an intense threesome alongside Hayley Kiyoko.
