Histoire
Miranda, a widowed innkeeper in a small town near Venice during the late 1940s, continues to wait for her husband's return from war despite him being missing for years. She refuses to remarry and instead maintains a series of relationships with various men over the course of one year. Her lovers include Berto, a young transporter, who is aware of Miranda's arrangement, and Tony, a secret admirer who watches their affair unfold.
