Biographie complète
Julie Michaels is a prominent American actress and stunt coordinator, born as Julie Dawn Michaels on July 20, 1970, in Washington, D.C.. Raised in the Northwest of the United States, she developed an early passion for athletics, eventually attending the University of Washington as an NCAA gymnast. Her unique blend of physical prowess and charisma led her to the Miss America Pageant, where she won two titles before making her way to Broadway in the production of Follies.
Her cinematic breakthrough came in 1989 when producer Joel Silver cast her as Denise in the cult classic Road House, where she shared a memorable on-screen fight with Patrick Swayze. This performance solidified her reputation in the action genre, leading to roles in other high-profile films such as Point Break (1991), Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993), and Batman & Robin (1997). In 1997, she also appeared as Tami Whitmar in the action film A Time to Revenge.
Beyond acting, Michaels has built a historic career behind the scenes. Transitioning into stunt work, she became a highly respected stunt coordinator and performer. In 2016, she made history as the first woman ever nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Stunt Coordination for her work on Shameless. Alongside her husband and fellow stunt coordinator, Peewee Piemonte, she has coordinated action for numerous hit television series, including How to Get Away with Murder, SEAL Team, and Jane the Virgin. Today, she remains a trailblazer for women in Hollywood, balancing her work as an executive producer with continued appearances in front of the camera.
